Easter

I completely slacked and took NO pictures on Easter.

Let me paint a picture:

Wake up at midnight to go pee and then the dog needed to pee too, so I let her out. There is snow on the deck.
Wake up to the alarm, and let the dog out, snow is covering all the outside furniture, grass, trees, and deck. I'm dreaming of a whiiiiiiite.... Easter? But alas, it's actually warm outside, considering.
A lovely service at New Life with Brad and Xia.
Brunch with the Lucias- Brunch Pizza is a delicious revelation- thanks Kathy!
Bum around for a while, then dinner at the Lees- amazing ham which we ate like 1/8th of, and THE MOST AMAZING CARROT CAKE EVER-thanks Holden!
Although, my plans to wear a new dress were ruined by the weather, I still looked rather cute in my skirt. Austina rocked the sweatpants under the dress look to stay warm. She still looked very cute.
Tony wore a very nice blue sweater and khaki's and complained all day that he should have worn jeans.
Then as we were leaving, some sort of leak sprung under my parent's sink and my dad tried to go to Home Depot... but they had closed just 5 minutes earlier at 6pm. Guess the dishes waited until today-I don't think my mom minded.
Went to bed early, and very full.
I am so glad we got to celebrate the Risen Lord with our amazing family :]

dear mucous....

thanks for giving me a little bit of a break these last few days.

pollens... a love/hate relationship.

right now I'm 90% hate, 10% love, and only because I REALLY like summer with green things, so I GUESS the pollens have to fly around for that to happen.

This is how I am waging war:

1) sinus rinse at least twice a day. I do it in the shower for less mess and more steam.
2) 1-2 showers a day to use the steam to loosen mucous and decreased inflammation
3) sleep on 3 pillows
4) the humidifier runs all night every night
5) Tylenol + benadryl at bedtimes
6) not opening any windows :[
7) ludens for my sore throat from post nasal drip
8) (gross but  necessary) making sure my mucous has not turned green or yellow indication a bacterial infection
9) steam machine. my dad gave it to me- it's pretty awesome.
10) breath right strips
11) puffs plus with lotion + the scent of vicks. amazing.

I have a very dear friend who suffered the most terrible loss one can imagine, losing a child, and after all her heartache, she has found the kindness in her heart to put things aside for us as we expect our first little one. I am so blessed.

meal planning

don't worry, I am worse at blogging than meal planning. so far I have been about 80% successful at planning and executing meals throughout the week.

I have hit a slump. Who says the second trimester is less fatigue? I have yet to experience that!

so far on my *lame* meal plan for the week is:

-spaghetti with salad
-chicken ala king

I am thinking I should get more on top of it since I have 3 more days and no more meals. I would like to do a crock pot thing this week too. Good thing I am going shopping tomorrow, I will try to find some recipe inspiration before then,

the truth....

...about pregnancy.

everything you wanted to know but no one will tell you. OR everything I want to complain about, and am making you read because you read my blog (and hope you are amused by).

1) you will feel like a huge cow. it's inevitable. don't worry, eventually you will get a big enough bump to stick out so people know you are not just fat, but actually pregnant
2) you will feel sick. you know when you are first coming down with something, and you are tired and just off? welcome to 9 months of that feeling.
3) yes, EVERYONE will want to touch your belly. sometimes it's nice, sometimes it's really annoying.
4) morning sickness is: a) not just in the morning, b) not just in the first trimester
5) your digestion rate goes from 60mph to 5mph, so you will be reliving every meal for several hours
6) you will be grumpy. ask for forgiveness from your spouse now.
7) you will find that 6:30pm is not too early to go to bed.
8) sometimes the best part of your day is putting on your pajamans
9) be prepared for EVERYONE to ask you if you know the sex, if you want to know the sex, and if you have names. I'm not just talking about family and friend's either.
10) that whole peeing every 10 mintues thing does not start at the third timester, no no, it's almost immediate. and at the same time you will be thirsty all the time
11) your temperature regulation will be terrible. wear layers.
12) you will want to tell everyone about all the sucky things about pregnancy, but really it's quite a miracle

to be continued.....

today is friday, and I heard birds chirping as I walked into work. I think today I will not move to Australia (especially because if I moved to Australia then I would miss out on shopping with my mommy and sister tomorrow!). I am so thankful for a new day :]
